Members

Karen Allaye-Chan

Karen has been a faithful member of the Guild since very early days. She writes icons and creates beautiful calligraphy. She is deeply involved in fundraising for the Redemptorist Mater Seminary of Vancouver.

Patricia Ballard

Patricia's background is in contemporary art, and has now been writing icons since 1999. She teaches iconography locally and internationally. She is featured in the Women's Iconography Archive at Lancaster University.

Mandy Boursicot

Mandy is a classically trained artist and teacher.  She graduated from Emily Carr University in 1999 and then went onto Florence, Italy. She specializes in traditional drawing and oil painting, and now makes rosaries together with Ana Maria.

Ana Diaz-Drew

Ana is a Master Gilder from Spain.  She practices and teaches gilding and restoration, in addition to painting contemporary and religious images, and creating unique Christmas decorations.

Mark Fraczek

Mark has been making hand-crafted leather accessories in conjunction with Giving Hands since 2020. 

Laura & John Gilroy

John and Laura have been creating stained glass since 1984. Together they design and create each work by hand, many of which are commissions for parishes in and around Vancouver. 

Steve Knight

Steve has been painting icons since 2004 in the Byzantine style. To date he has painted over 175 icons, mostly commissions for the Archdioscese of Vancouver, including two sets of Stations of the Cross. Steve teaches iconography to adults and children. 

Michael Molnar

Michael is an active liturgical musician. He is the organist at St. Helen's, a founding member of the MOTET Sacred Music Ensemble, a graduate of the University of British Columbia Music School, and a composer of sacred music. A lover of religious art, literature, and architecture, he joined the Epiphany Sacred Arts Guild to broaden his appreciation and support for beauty. 

Jeannine Paquette

Jeannine is a graduate of Emily Carr University and has a broad range of art interests, including icon painting, calligraphy and contemporary art.  

Ana Maria Silva

Ana Maria's prayer and devotion extends to many areas of sacred art, including iconography, calligraphy, rosary-making, and restoration of sacred statues. Ana Maria has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and is represented in the digital archive Women's Iconography in the 21st century at Lancaster University, U.K.

John Suter

John Suter (1930-2024) was a lifetime member of our Guild. He beautifully illuminated and hand calligraphed all the psalms and many prayers, which the Guild now promotes, selling limited prints and some originals. His work was an expression of his deep faith and a tool for evangelization.

Jonathan Ulanicki

Jonathan is a Development Support Officer at St. Mark's College, and was inspired to icon painting from his travels in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Laura Vautour

Laura is one of our newest members and is focussing on learning iconography.
